Grade R and RR

A warm welcome to Bryanston Primary School, Grade R and RR. We look forward to sharing a wonderful year together, full of fun, hard work and happy memories!

How we teach

Each portion of our day is instructional. Your child will be developing various skills throughout the day. We focus on hands on learning , learning through play and developing socialization and communication skills.

Morning rings

Our morning group meeting begins each day at 8:00am. During this time, our whole class gathers in our meeting area and we begin our day! During morning meeting our class engages in important, meaningful discussions about a specific
topic which correlates to the unit of study. Learners learn important social skills, such as waiting for a turn to speak, listening to others, making eye contact.
During morning meeting, students are expected to sit on their bottom, follow directions, and wait their turn to share.

Play time

Play time is when our learners learn how to socialize and interact with others! Our various centers allow students to explore different materials that strengthen their cognitive and social skills as well as learn to work together.

Art time

During art 2-4 learners meet with the teacher for guided learning activity related to the current unit of skill development. Learners will be able to utilize and develop different skills and partake in discussions about specific topics.
Learners will learn how to collaborate and have conversations with their friends and teachers.

Fees

The financial commitment from parents ensures the continued growth and well being of our school, which in turn, ensures a high standard of education for our children.

The major expenses continue to be that of salaries, administration, utility costs, which are funded by the Parent Body.  We believe that it is imperative that we continue to strive to keep the learner/ educator ratios as low as possible.

The school fees for 2024 for Grade R and RR are R50 550 per learner per annum.
